This workshop offers an introduction to the practice and theory of traditional Ashtanga Yoga. Its essential principles and foundations will be imparted in a comprehensible and practical way.


  • The basics of Ashtanga Yoga (also in comparison to other traditions)
  • Sunsalutations in detail
  • Alignment of the standing sequence
  • The first sitting asanas with Vinyasas in detail
  • Finishing sequence
  • Techniques of Ashtanga Yoga (Breath, Bandhas and Drishtis)
  • Structure of the “Primary Series” of Ashtanga Yoga
  • Advice for a safe and self-dependant practice
  • Tradition of Ashtanga Yoga (history and difference to othere traditions)


Also for students who have been practising Ashtanga Yoga for a while. This workshop will help to deepen the practice and understanding of Ashtanga Yoga in all its aspects.
